Barnhill Donkeys Retreat

Area: Eden
Purpose/aim of your organisation:
We take in rescue donkeys, who have been abandoned, abused and from slaughter

They are then nursed back to health and where possible re-homed
List of activities and/or services provided by your organisation:
From being a purely donkey rescue, we now have local groups, Shap playgroup, Shap Beavers come along and visit, we also have Rainbows and Brownies.

We also have boys and girls who are taking their bronze D.O.E award come her as part of their volunteering section of the award

We also have disabled and those who are having mental health issues, being around the donkeys helps them destress and relax. I signed up on TripAdvisor last year, and I am very proud to say we won TripAdvisor Travellers Choice Award 2024
The donkeys have 87, 5* reviews on TripAdvisor link below

We could do a lot more for disabled groups and visitors in general if we had funding to concrete our access, it is gravel and those in wheelchairs or crutches etc find it hard to walk across.
The stable yard is concreted
