Annie Mawson's Sunbeams Music Trust

The Trust’s key objectives: "Sunbeams aims to relieve sickness and assist in the treatment of children and adults who are suffering physically, emotionally, psychologically and mentally by the provision of free music therapy and to provide introductory music therapy training to individuals working with such persons". Our achievements have always been an indication of the strong infrastructure of the charity, including Trustees/Directors and Staff, as well as the remarkable professionalism, dedication and talent of the musicians who all contribute to the on-going high standard and quality of Sunbeams services. Leadership and staff are outstanding, with the experience, qualifications, skills and empathy, able to deliver Sunbeams' vision and mission. We aim to tackle the serious challenges raised by social exclusion, deprivation, ill-health and inequality, through the transformative power of our Community Music Therapy.

9 Specialist Graduate Musicians deliver our Music For Life® and Music For Dignity® programmes, every month, free of charge wherever possible to 2,000+ beneficiaries. We aim to improve the quality of life, the emotional and mental health and self-esteem of groups of children with complex medical needs, adults with disabilities, elderly people with advanced dementia, in venues throughout Cumbria and our award-winning Sunbeams Music Centre, built in 2016.

Armathwaite Old School Hall

Armathwaite's Village HallOld School Hall is a charming traditional local sandstone building in the centre of Armathwaite village.

The hall provides a public space suitable for all types of events. The main hall can accomodate up to 120 people with seating for 95. It is an accessible facility with ramp access, accessible toilets and with audio loop installed.

It has a modern fully equipped kitchen. There is also a small upstairs room suitable for small groups and committee meetings.

Outside is a rear lawned garden area and a car park to one side. There is also on-street parking adjacent to the hall
