Cockermouth Volunteering Fair

Are you looking to recruit volunteers in and around the Cockermouth area? 

Then book your organisation’s place at the Cockermouth Volunteering Fair 2026! 

This is an event not to be missed, which will give your organisation the chance to directly meet with people interested in volunteering, and to tell them all about the amazing opportunities you have for them to get involved and make a difference. Be prepared to tell people why they should volunteer with you, and to show them how they can register and get started. 

Set up for organisations will begin from 10am, ready for the public to arrive from 11am. Your organisation will be offered a table and chairs to promote your volunteering opportunities. We ask you to attend for the full event to ensure that no potential volunteers are disappointed. 

This event is an opportunity for individuals to come along and to meet local groups, charities or organisations to find out about local volunteering opportunities and how they can get started. Potential volunteers will find out more about which organisations are looking to recruit new volunteers, the wide range of local volunteering opportunities available, when and where volunteers are needed and how to become a volunteer.  

Please do think about how you can make your stand engaging to visitors: anything which can be a conversation starter helps to draw people to you, and give people a real sense of what volunteering with you is all about. Can you bring some objects or a small hands-on activity which will give people an idea of what they would be doing in a day-in-the-life-of-a-volunteer? Be prepared to talk about who you are, what you do, how volunteers make a difference, and how people can get started volunteering with you. 

Places will be confirmed after the closing date of 1 August 2026. Please book early so this will allow time for publicity and posters to be produced for the event.  Priority bookings will go to Cumbria CVS members and organisations on the Volunteering in Cumbria Portal. 

We ask all organisations to please register your volunteer opportunities on the Volunteering in Cumbria Portal so that we can showcase the range of organisations who will be attending, and to help you to further publicise your opportunities.  (https://volunteering.cumbriacvs.org.uk). Eligibility Statement: 

This event is exclusively for organisations within the voluntary sector in Cumbria, this includes charities, community groups, community interest companies, friendly societies, social clubs, sports clubs, churches and other faith groups, and voluntary organisations. Bookings from those outside this sector may not be accepted: if you are from outside the sector or want to check if you can book a place please contact us via info@cumbriacvs.org.uk
