Making Marketing Manageable: A Practical Workshop for Third-Sector Teams From Strategy to a Realistic 90-Day Plan in two 90 minute sessions.
Struggling to keep marketing on the to-do list? You’re not alone. Join this two-part, practical workshop series designed specifically for third-sector teams who don’t necessarily have dedicated marketing staff but still need to raise awareness, shift perceptions, and reach more people. Across two guided sessions, you’ll use AI tools with your own organisation know-how to create a simple, realistic marketing strategy, a 90-day action plan you can actually deliver, and a set of decision-making questions to keep everyone on track. No jargon, no complex templates, just focused time, support, practical tools, and a bit of accountability.
In the third sector, marketing often ends up being everyone’s job and no one’s priority. In this two-part workshop series, delivered in partnership with Cumbria CVS, you’ll create a marketing approach that finally feels manageable. Many third-sector organisations are facing the same challenge: you need to raise awareness, tackle misunderstandings about what you do, and reach the people who need your support — but without a marketing team, spare time, or specialist skills. This workshop series is designed exactly for that reality. Led by Lucinda Bray, Managing Director of The Happy Mums Foundation (and former marketing consultant working with brands like Tesco, Red Bull and TUI), you’ll work through a guided process to build:
1. A simple, clear marketing strategy. A short statement that links what your organisation wants to achieve with the audiences you need to reach and the ways you’ll reach them — no fluff, no jargon.
2. A realistic 90-day marketing plan. A starter plan shaped around your actual capacity, skills and resources — built with the help of AI tools you can keep using long after the workshop ends.
3. ‘Rule-out’ decision questions A set of practical prompts anyone in your organisation can use when suggesting or creating marketing activity, to keep everything aligned with your strategy.
What we won’t be doing
· Creating visuals or design work
· Writing your social media posts
· Redesigning your website
· Marking or reviewing everyone’s outputs in detail
· Providing 1:1 support outside the workshop time
What we will be doing
· Using AI tools to make strategy development faster and easier
· Helping you understand your audiences and how to communicate with them
· Providing guidance, examples, and a sounding board for tricky questions
· Making sure your strategy and plan are realistic — not wishful thinking
· Creating a supportive space where “stupid questions” absolutely do not exist
Who is it for? Anyone in a third-sector organisation who has any link to communications or marketing — whether it’s in your job title or not. Perfect for small teams, limited resources, and organisations where “everyone chips in.”
