First Aid Awareness Training for Volunteers

Build your skills and confidence as a volunteer on this First Aid course.

Thursday, 18th September 2025, 1.30pm – 4.30pm.

Holiday Inn Express, Market Street, Barrow in Furness, LA14 2LR 

This First Aid Awareness Training is a course is for volunteers, and will cover a range of content, including: responding to common incidents like choking, bleeding and cardiac arrest, the role of a first aider, assessment of incidents, dealing with an unresponsive casualty and dealing with minor injuries. Using real life scenarios tailored to specific challenges those attending will gain practical hands-on experience. 

This will be a practical course: please wear comfortable clothing which allows you to get down onto the floor for the practical exercises.

Places are available for a maximum of 2 volunteers per organisation.

Please arrive at 1.15pm for coffee and registration, training starts 1.30pm.

This event is part of our This Is Us project, made possible by Westmorland and Furness Council through funding from the UK Shared Prosperity Fund. Priority for bookings will be given to those volunteers supporting organisations in Westmorland and Furness which are Cumbria CVS Members.

Eligibility Statement:
This course is exclusively for individuals and organizations within the voluntary sector in operating across Westmorland and Furness area, this includes charities, community groups, community interest companies, friendly societies, social clubs, many sports clubs, churches and other faith groups, and voluntary organisations.
