Join us for an insightful event dedicated to equipping charities with the knowledge and tools needed to navigate the complexities of GDPR and cybersecurity. Delivered by Morgan Sindall Infrastructure as part of the Bedrock Basics training offer.

This event is designed specifically for charity organisations, offering an overview of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the basics of cybersecurity practices. The session is ideal for those who are new to these topics as the event provides valuable insights and practical advice tailored to the unique challenges faced by charities.

What You’ll Gain:

  • Understanding GDPR Compliance: Learn about the basic guidelines and key roles, along with the processes involved to ensure your organisation remains compliant.

  • Cybersecurity Best Practices: Review the different threat actors who target organisations for different reasons, overview of phishing and ransomware attacks, the impact of AI and what organisations can put in place around business continuity, password management.

The training is take place on Wednesday 4th June from 10am – 2pm at The Rum Story, 27 Lowther Street, Whitehaven. The training is aimed at charities working in the West Cumberland area and is free, including lunch and refreshments for attendees. 

 

We are limiting the training to 1 place per organisation at the moment, with a waiting list in place.

Bedrock Basics is part of the Transforming West Cumbria programme, supported by Cumbria Community Foundation and funded by Sellafield Social Impact Multiplied. Bedrock Basics is supporting community organisations across West Cumbria to build their resilience, capabilities and financial sustainability.

Eligibility Statement:
This course is exclusively for individuals and organisations within the voluntary sector in Cumbria, this includes charities, community groups, community interest companies, friendly societies, social clubs, many sports clubs, churches and other faith groups, and voluntary organisations. Bookings from those outside this sector may not be accepted, If you are from outside the sector or want to check if you can book a place please contact  via info@cumbriacvs.org.uk
