This workshop is designed to raise awareness of the key issues relating to safeguarding for volunteers and staff working with children and vulnerable adults. By the end of this interactive workshop participants should be able to: 

  • Explain what safeguarding means.
  • Identify 7 different types of abuse and their signs.
  • Describe how to respond if you suspect abuse.
  •  

We aim to make participants feel confident that they would know how to act if they suspect abuse. Please note that this is a basic, non-accredited workshop delivered in collaboration with Adult Learning Westmorland and Furness council. This event is part of our This Is Us project, made possible by Westmorland and Furness Council through funding from the UK Shared Prosperity Fund. 

Eligibility Statement

This course is exclusively for individuals and organizations within the voluntary sector in Westmorland and Furness, this includes charities, community groups, community interest companies, friendly societies, social clubs, sports clubs, churches and other faith groups, and voluntary organisations. Bookings from those outside this sector may not be accepted, If you are from outside the sector or want to check if you can book a place please contact  via info@cumbriacvs.org.uk
